Digital Portfolio design 1
Good Points:
My design has some creative ideas where it allows you to go to my school website and has details about all my activities and subjects studied saying what do we study.
Bad Points:
A problem with this is that it seems too basic. I could improve this by adding more photos and information instead of short sentences

MYP Areas of Interaction
MYP Areas of Interaction
1. Approaches to Learning:
In approaches to learning , students will be given tools and equipment to help them with their learning. The aim is to make students learn on how to learn. This will help them come up with their own ideas and help them to think in a wider range.
2. Community and Service:
Community and Service enables the students to get involved in their community they are apart of. This involves taking part in events, helping people or even starting an event. This helps the community and makes the student learn how to be more social.

Software Options for a Digital Portfolio
HTML:
HTML full name Hypertext Markup Language is software to create webpages and to present information that is on a webpage. The purpose of HTML is to read it's documents and put that information in a web page format that is visible.
Examples: http://sheldonbrown.com/web_sample1.html
http://help.websiteos.com/websiteos/example_of_a_simple_html_page.htm
One of the advantages of HTML is it's consistency as it now is much easier to use and designers will know on how their webpage should be structured. The disadvantage is that main browsers support it whereas if you have another web browser then HTML websites might not work. I would think this is a good option for making a digital portfolio because it supports the developer of the website making everything easy.
FrontPage:
FrontPage is a Microsoft software that is discontinued. It is a web forming software where you can see a split view to enter the codes for the webpage and on the other half view how it looks like so that you can make minor adjustments. This is a discontinued program so there is not much information about it. I wouldn't use this to make my digital portfolio because little do I know about it and it was in use long ago so the program might have a few compatibility issues.
Dreamweaver:
Dreamweaver is another good web designing software. Dreamweaver was originally developed by Macromedia but then later took on with Adobe. This was originally meant to edit and create webpages.
Examples: http://dreamweavermenu.com/images/help/frontpage/d-open-website.jpg
https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT0CbP0IwyMV9y-uZfLKe6K70P7t-HKSJLkC0-mNheTKIlGrxqi
The advantage of dreamweaver is that it gives you suggestions on coding in case if you don't know some codes. The disadvantage is that only 10% of the functionality is useful. I would use this software because it is convenient for digital portfolios however there is a few things the program has to improve on for it to be perfect.
Wiki:
A wiki is an online webpage that shows information in text format.
Examples: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_portfolio
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki
Wikis are made in a way that once a person talks about a subject, other people from outside can edit the information or add some more, this helps so that we get more ideas and knowledge about the subject. The disadvantage is that people can misuse this ability by adding bias information that can also add false information. This could be a good informative digital portfolio but it is just plain text, I plan on making something creative and that others can enjoy.

Digital Portfolios
Digital Portfolios
A wiki is an online webpage that allows you to freely create
and edit content on a wiki with any web browser. Wikis is a webpage that allows
many people to share their ideas and create an informative webpage that people
will mostly find useful. The disadvantages of a wiki are that people can edit
information to make them bias or false information. Blog is a short name for
weblog. Blogs are made by one person informing others about a topic, blogs can
be made private so other people can’t see and world-wide can’t edit the blog,
it will be an advantage for world-wide to not edit so that they cannot make it
bias. The disadvantage of blogs is that the creator of the blog could be bias or
the person might have forgotten some information therefore leaving other people
not knowing much about the topic. A blog is more like a personal diary or
journal whereas wikis are online articles where many people can share
information publically on a particular topic. Digital portfolios are is a way
of showcasing different student achievements or basically a student can save
their work to a disk, a CD or a web page.
Digital Portfolios are digitized information found in
varieties of different forms like in media, photography, blogging, texts,
diagrams and illustrations
The main important features of digital portfolios are the
accessibility to portfolios, it is very easy to access and it is cheap. The
portability of these portfolios is very easy considering the fact that it is
digital, this is way easier than hardcopy versions. Digital portfolios records mainly a student’s
progress, teachers could use this to easily see their student’s progress and
make and use this to mark or to come up with ways on how the student should
improve. An advantage of digital portfolios is that it can be viewed by anyone
at any time so this makes it easy to access needed information. The
disadvantage is that there is high chance of plagiarism where people claim work
from others as theirs.
One of a good digital portfolio
is this one: http://www.rleonardi.com/interactive-resume/
This digital portfolio is
designed to be like a game, many people enjoy games so learning information
from game like portfolio is cool. This portfolio contains game like animations,
a character that you control to learn the information, external sites to click
on to learn more information
